During the 1970’s our community in the United States experienced an unprecedented growth and transformation. New waves of immigrants, escaping the economic, political, and social uncertainties of the Middle East, settled in the New York Metropolitan area. As these new immigrants struggled to build new lives for themselves and their families, they yearned for the community, friendships, and the cultural activities they left behind.
