Syriac Federation of Sweden (SRF)
The Syriac Federation of Sweden (SRF) was founded in 1978 with the purpose of sustaining the identity of the Aramean (Syriac) diaspora in Sweden, while at the same time assisting in the transition to the new society through integration. Ever since, the federation has become the voice for the Aramean people in Sweden by striving democratically for socio-political, economic, educational and cultural rights, in concerned ethnical issues and by acting as a bridge between Arameans and Swedish society.
SRF is the umbrella organization for 30 Aramaic (Syriac) associations and is thus one of the largest organizations in Sweden. The headquarter has symbolically been placed in Södertälje, where the biggest part of the Aramean (Syriac) population in the world is concentrated.
