Dear Mr. President Obama,
We urgently appeal to You on behalf of the Aramean (Syriac) people, who are indigenous to Syria, Iraq, Southeast Turkey and Lebanon, and more than 100,000 of whom have found refuge in Sweden (see the appendix below). We request You to reconsider Your current position on Syria.

Your Excellency, Dear Mr Cameron,
We wish to express our deep gratitude towards Her Majesty’s Government for not sending weapons into Syria, but hope that the budget will now be reserved instead for the direly needed humanitarian aid. As we have learned since the outbreak of the war in the country, the move to flood the country with more weapons would only have led to an increase in violence and bloodshed of innocent civilians.
Letter to the Representatives at the EU Foreign Affairs Council regarding the Arms Embargo to Syria (24 May 2013)
Friday, 24 May 2013
Re: Urgent call by Syrian Christians to uphold the weapons embargo to Syria
Your Excellency,
We refer to the upcoming European Union meeting to be held this Monday 27 May 2013 in Brussels, which will discuss the current EU weapons embargo to Syria. The great majority of Syrian people are vehemently against the Syrian war and plead with international community to put the pressure on relevant parties to solve this war through peaceful means, not through an increase in weapons supplies to any party, including the rebel movement.

Christians throughout the Middle East are at a critical impasse. What we are seeing in Egypt has also been reflected in other states in the region. The Aramean (Syriac) Christians of Syria, Turkey and Iraq are theologically closely linked to the Copts and have endured the same fate for centuries.

Your Excellency, Dear Mr. Davutoğlu,
We wish to draw your attention once again to the uncertain fate of the Greek and Syriac Orthodox Bishops of Aleppo, Msgr. Boulos Yazigi and Msgr. Yuhanon Ibrahim. Today it has been 106 days since they were abducted. All signs of life and their whereabouts are still lacking substantiation. Due to certain news reports, we request Your Excellency to clarify the position of the Turkish Government.
THE FORGOTTEN PLIGHT OF THE INDIGENOUS ARAMEANS (SYRIACS) OF SYRIA (16 July 2013)
TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:
According to international law, the Aramean (Syriac) people and their endangered Aramaic (Syriac) language are indigenous to Turkey, Syria, Iraq and Lebanon, where they are still struggling hard for survival and for appreciation and official recognition as an ancient Semitic people with their distinct (read: non-Arab, non-Turkish, non-Kurdish, non-Muslim) identity, language, literature and religion.
